CSBK Series News and Press Releases

Top Pro racers on the Mopar CSBK National road race tour were on hand at the Toronto Motorcycle Show, presented by Dalton Timmis Insurance, at the Enercare Centre in downtown Toronto.  With unseasonably good weather outside, a strong turn-out produced a positive day on the Canadian National Exposition grounds.

Current overall Canadian number one plate holder Jordan Szoke was busy throughout the day, representing sponsors including BMW Motorrad and Express Lane Service.  Szoke will be gunning for his record 11th career overall Canadian Pro number one National plate in 2016 Canadian racing, starting at the end of May at Shannonville Motorsport Park, ON.

Sitting beside Szoke on the autograph line was Derrick White, ready to join the Pro National racer ranks in 2016 aboard a Snow City backed Kawasaki ZX-10R Ninja Superbike.  In 2015, White edged series runner-up Samuel Trepanier (BMW) and Phillip Leckie (Suzuki) for the Amateur National crown in the 1000cc Superbike class.

Quebec-based veteran racer Michael Leon is backed by Royal City Distributing aboard a BMW S1000RR, and in 2015 he focused for the first time on the Superbike Feature class, earning a solid sixth in the final Championship standings.  Leon’s top run of the year didn’t earn any points, however:  at a wet Autodrome St-Eustache in Quebec, Leon was leading late in the race before a tumble handed the win to Szoke.

Popular privateer Trevor Daley has placed up front in the National Superbike points for the past two years, riding primarily Suzuki equipment.  Second overall in 2014 and fifth after an injury-troubled 2015 campaign, Daley is still working on his sponsorship arrangements for this season.

For the past few years, Ben Young has raced in both the United States and the United Kingdom, with occasional starts in Canada, too.  Last season, 22-year-end Young came within .06 of a second of winning in a drop-in ride for Hindle-Yamaha in Pro Sport Bike at the final National of the season at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, ON.

Last season, Kenny Riedmann earned his second consecutive Hindle Pro Sport Bike National title for 600cc class bikes, as well as showing extremely well in his debut in the Canadian National Feature class aboard a Sturgis Cycle backed Kawasaki.  In 2016, Riedmann will run Kawasaki equipment in both classes, looking for a third straight Sport Bike title as well as his first Feature race win in the Mopar-backed Superbike category.
