Reigning Ninja ZX-4RR Cup champion Jacob Black will return to the Bridgestone Canadian Superbike series, intent on defending his title, and now with new help from Brogans Small Engine Repairs in the Drop Bear Racing Squad.
The Etobicoke small engine repair company joins existing sponsors Motor Credit, Niagara Race Crafters, and Timothy’s Pub aboard the #707 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4RR.
The Australian-born Etobicoke native will have his work cut out for him in an expanded Ninja ZX-4RR field, which includes lightweight racing phenom Jared Walker in a Snow City Cycle-backed effort.
A journeyman in the lightweight class on a Kawasaki EX400, Jacob stepped up to the Ninja ZX-4RR in 2025 and was up to speed quickly.
Technical issues thwarted Black at the two Ontario rounds, but he earned his first career wins at Shubenacadie and then at Edmonton before sealing the championship at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park.
Drop Bear Racing will also have support from crew chief Veronika Larson, whose influence on the #707’s program is a key factor in the team’s success. The team will hit the track for the first time in 2026 on Thursday, May 14 during the season-opening test at Shannonville Motorsport Park.
