Daccache Continues Shannonville Domination
Testing Simpson Shows Solid Pace
The third round of the 2026 RACE Moto Regional Championship took place at Shannonville Motorsport Park’s 15 turn long track, and nine-time consecutive Pro number one and Champ Eli Daccache continued his fine form with his Milwaukee Yamaha YZF-R1 Superbike. A winner in the Lou-Ann Printing Pro Superbike Feature both Saturday and Sunday, Daccache also won both the Sprint Cup supporting races for 1000cc equipment.
Daccache was concerned about the extremely hot conditions, but confirmed the absence of BMW’s Michael Leon on the Royal Distributing/Pro 6 Cycle entry took some pressure off his overall weekend. The pair are arch-rivals, but Leon’s fall in the previous round while leading during a brief shower forced the Montrealer to miss round three.
On Sunday, Daccache won Sprint Cup by seven seconds from Matt Simpson (Sousa Racing Bridgestone CSBK OPP Racing Supersport spec Suzuki GSX-R750), Simpson on hand testing front fork options with National spec Bridgestone rubber. Third in Sprint Cup was an on-form Carter Matson (Yam), from fourth Matt Vanderhorst on a BMW. Fifth went to National regular Ernest Berhard (Yam).
Daccache turned a best lap at 1:46.1 in Sprint Cup, Simpson close at a tour of 1:47.37. The outright track record is a lap of 1:43.8 turned by former National SBK Champ Francis Martin on a BMW in 2010, while more recently Daccache did a lap at 1:44.9 in 2018 RACE Regional action. Even without any close competition, Daccache increased his pace to turn a 1:46.51 in Superbike, making the most of the hot track temperatures.
Simpson opted to skip Superbike, instead entering the “bump” EVAL Construction Heavyweight class, edging his National CSBK bike owner Marco Sousa for the win, Sousa netting second. Third in Heavyweight was Triumph mounted rising star America-based racer Deven Arseneau.
In Superbike, Daccache got a solid start and was gone, while various disputes for position developed behind him. At the end of Superbike, Farnham Brewing Yamaha YZF-R1 mounted “fast farmer” Bernhard was second, 37 seconds behind after eight laps.
Third in Lou-Ann Printing Pro Superbike was BMW S1000RR mounted Chris Fehr, holding off the Kawasaki ZX-10R Ninja of a returning-to-action Eros Mukja. Matthew Annable was fifth on a Suzuki from Martin Perrault’s Kawasaki.

Suzuki mounted Jordan Decarie won Pro 600 Supersport from Kawasaki pilot Perrault and another unretired racer, Marco Alessandrini.
As well as battling the Pros in combined class action, Yamaha mounted Carter Matson ran away with Amateur Superbike, beating Parker Sabine-Craig for the Superbike win by over 30 seconds. J.S. Lefebvre was third from Julien Montpetit (Kawasaki). In Amateur 600 Supersport, Montpetit earned first by just 1.6 seconds from Daniel Johnson (Kaw) and Deven Arseneau.
There was plenty of focus on the Hindle Lightweight class, with MotoMINI Ohvale 190 class archrivals Stefan Tanasic (Snow City Kawasaki 500 Ninja) and new lap record holder from Q Jager Stockill (Super Sonic Road Race School Yamaha YZF-R3) both competing. Tanasic ran away Saturday, but on Sunday the two were glued together on the first lap until Stockill ran wide into the esses and fell, getting stuck under his bike.
The race was red flagged, and Stockill was transported to hospital with severe burns on his foot. On the restart, Series leader Tanasic once again took control at the restart to win by just over three seconds from SuperMoto KTM mounted Aiden Liem, Alan Burns (Kaw) and Toni Sharpless (Yam). Andrea Purdy (Kaw) was next best in fifth.
Tom Ritchie won the Novice race by eight seconds from Kyle Fenn, Luciano Di Luciano a distant third.
A day after the Ohvale 160 and 190 FIM National round, the MiniSBK grids were busy, In the Mini3 and 4 races, Tammer Chehade won both the 110 division races from Thorleif Grummett and Everly Landry, while the 50cc opening portion went to Crosby Byberg from Natalie Tanasic and Cole Hodgson. Natalia Tanasic won race two from Chulainn Grummett after Byberg fell late in the race and couldn’t get his Honda restarted.
In Moto One and Moto Two MiniSBK class action, Ohvale mounted Eric Sergi won both races overall for Moto1 success ahead of Aaron Mead, while in race two Ben Graham (Honda CF 150 SuperMoto) was second ahead of Mead (Kawasaki KX 85 SuperMoto).
In the Moto 2 Mini division, Saturday National victor Mateen O’Brien won twice on his Ohvale 160, with Austin Da second in the opener from Will Brown, while in the last race of the day Brown netted second ahead of Da after another good dice.
Next round of the RACE Moto Regional Championships takes place back at Shannonville on August 28-30, on the perimeter Pro Circuit.
