The revised schedule for the Bridgestone Canadian Superbike Championship finale has been confirmed by the series following a postponement of events on Saturday due to inclement weather at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park.
During the initial stages of race one of the feature GP Bikes Pro Superbike class, officially declared a “dry” race, increasing rain forced a red flag stoppage on lap four with the intention of a restart later Saturday afternoon.
Unfortunately, confirmed lightning and reports of hail in the area made a resumption of events unsafe for competitors and trackside marshalls, forcing the postponement of all racing until Sunday.
The abrupt end to the day impacted race one action in the Pro Superbike, Amateur Superbike, and Lightweight Sportbike categories. Racing in the Pro Supersport, Amateur Supersport, Twins Cup, and ZX-4R Cup classes had already been completed as scheduled on Saturday.
As a result, CSBK officials have elected to resume Pro Superbike race one on Sunday, currently scheduled for roughly 10:30 am ET. The race will be re-gridded according to the running order on lap four, and is scheduled for a reduced 12 laps.
Race two will use the original grid based off qualifying order, and remains scheduled for roughly 3:00 pm ET at the original distance of 18 laps.
Race one in the Amateur Superbike and Lightweight Sportbike classes will follow at the conclusion of Pro Superbike race one on Sunday morning. Each has been reduced from 12 laps to 10 laps.
Race two in every category, including Amateur Superbike and Lightweight Sportbike, remains at their originally scheduled number of laps and has not been changed.
