Team News: Trevor Daley's 2023 CSBK season preview

Down to business: OneSpeedInc’s Trevor Daley previews the 2023 Bridgestone Canadian Superbike season

Mount Hope, Ontario, January 24, 2023 - Change and consistency are the key to success. Build on what works, improve where necessary, and—ideally—take the final step up the rostrum.

But before we get to the upcoming Canadian Superbike (csbk.ca) season, Trevor’s fifth consecutive aboard a OneSpeedInc/Suzuki Canada GSX-R1000, let’s take a quick look back. With five national podiums and a third-place overall series finish last season, Trevor was perpetually in the hunt. But until the #1 plate is affixed to the front of his Suzuki, there’s no time to rest.

This off-season the lights of OneSpeedInc HQ have been on at all hours as the GSX-R was thoroughly and obsessively rebuilt. With the fierce level of competition in the series, work to bolster the program—in both human and material ways— never stops. In 2023 that means the addition of Scott Cameron as crew chief and Suzuki’s Ecstar brand of in-house oils, chemicals, and cleaners.

For 2023 the OneSpeedInc GSX-R channels a dark horse vibe, as the red rims and black bodywork visually harken back to the 2014 campaign, when Trevor finished second in the national championship.

This coming season also marks a welcome return to Shannonville Motorsport Park for both the season opening and closing rounds. Shannonville has been fertile hunting ground for Trevor, as his first national win in amateur superbike and first pro podium (both, incidentally, on GSX-Rs) took place at the legendary racetrack.

With Bridgestone replacing Dunlop as the series spec tire for ’23, the team has a rigorous testing agenda—utilizing MotoSPEC software—to ensure that chassis setup is on the mark.

Next up is Quebec’s ice racing triple crown on a studded-up OneSpeedInc-prepared Suzuki RM-Z450, followed by an appearance at the Toronto motorcycle show (Feb. 17-19) in the Suzuki booth. Then it’s off to Montreal for a Friday (Feb. 24) appearance at Quebec’s only motorcycle show before the final round of the ice racing series.

If you’re at either show say hello, be rewarded with a signed poster for your efforts, and don’t forget to follow the team @onespeedinc for the latest news.
