Reigning Mopar CSBK National Motorcycle road racing Champ Jordan Szoke visited the Mopar booth at Toronto’s International Centre on Saturday, March 9, working at the 5th annual Motorama Custom Car & Motorsports Expo. Szoke, from Lynden, ON, has returned to Kawasaki for 2019, and will compete aboard a pair of under-construction Ninja ZX-10R Superbikes during the upcoming racing season.
With his new bikes in bits, Szoke had a production ZX-10R on display in the Mopar booth, provided by Burlington Cycle. Szoke also brought his personal ice racing mount to display, a Kawasaki KX450, modified for use on local frozen lakes.
During Saturday afternoon, Szoke and his wife Amy, along with son Wolf, signed competition calendars in the big Mopar display, joined by Pinty’s NASCAR series front runner and former National Champ, Andrew Ranger. Both Ranger and Szoke have raced on behalf of Mopar and their Express Lanes service initiative for the past few seasons, and are use to doing Media and Fan events on behalf of parent Fiat-Chrysler.
“Things are busy, but pretty much going according to plan,” explained Szoke, who had many fans on hand asking about his recent, successful ankle update surgery. “It’s good to get going building our new Superbikes, and our aim is to be riding the new Kawasaki in April. It’s been really good getting back with Kawasaki, we’ve had so much success together, and I’m really looking forward to our next chapter.”
Szoke’s official debut aboard his “mean green” 1000cc, almost 200 horsepower racer is slated for Shannonville Motorsport Park, east of Belleville, ON, for the opening event of the National tour May 16-19, sponsored by the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. Szoke aims to test at a minimum of at least two venues prior to the start of the Canadian National tour, and begin sorting through the wide range of adjustments offered by the current, four-time World Superbike title winning, Kawasaki Ninja platform.
The Toronto Motorama Custom Car & Motorsports Expo continues at the International Centre, just north of Toronto’s International Airport, on Sunday, from 10 AM to 5 PM. The Show is affiliated with Inside Track Communications, publisher of Inside Motorcycles Magazine and also the annual program for the Mopar CSBK National Superbike Championship tour.
