Motorama Car Show this weekend in Toronto

The third annual Motorama Custom Car and Motorsports Expo presented by Mothers takes place this weekend, March 10-12, at the International Centre near Pearson International Airport in Toronto, and once again the Mopar CSBK Series will be taking part, within the mammoth Mopar display in Hall Two.

On Saturday, March 11 at 1 PM, some of the top guns of the 2017 Mopar CSBK Superbike tour will be in the Mopar Booth for an Autograph Session, hosted by Frank Wood, the voice of Dalton Timmis Insurance presents Mopar CSBK on TSN.

Motorama also hosts a wide variety of four-wheeled culture celebrities, and a crazy array of competition vehicles, including the stars of the NASCAR Pinty’s National Stock Car Series.

Eleven time Mopar CSBK overall Canadian National Superbike Champion Jordan Szoke will be on hand, along with the latest version of his Championship winning Express Lane/Motovan BMW S1000RR Superbike. Now based in Lynden, ON, Szoke hasn’t lost a National Superbike race since July, 2014, and is undoubtedly the racer to beat for this year’s seven race Superbike campaign, starting May 25-28 at Shannonville Motorsport Park, Ontario.

In 2016, Montreal’s Michael Leon had another strong season in the Superbike Feature class of the Mopar CSBK tour, placing his Royal Distributing BMW fourth overall in the final standings.  The veteran front runner, on hand in the Mopar Booth for Saturday afternoon’s signing session, is looking forward to the second 2017 round at Grand Bend Motorplex on Lake Huron.

This event will mark the first appearance of the Mopar CSBK National Championship Series at Grand Bend on the Technical configuration of their road course, and Leon is one of the few front-runners with considerable experience at the airfield-based venue.

In 2015, Derrick Whyte earned the Magneti Marelli Amateur Superbike Championship, moving up to chase Brooklin cycle Racing Top Rookie Pro honours in the Pro Superbike series last season.  Riding the Snow City Cycle/Lucas Oils Kawasaki ZX-10R Ninja, Oshawa, ON’s Whyte wound up a very strong eighth overall in the overall National standings in the top category.  This result was all the more impressive given that Whyte was injured in a serious crash at the final round at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park last August.

Whyte will join fellow Mopar CSBK top guns Leon and Szoke at the Show, and take a moment to enquire about the new Ninja Derrick is building for 2017.  If you check in with Whyte during Saturday’s session and also ask about an Ogio knap sack, you could win one at the Mopar Booth this Saturday at the Show!

Motorama is open on Friday, March 10 from 10 AM to 9 PM; Saturday from 10 AM to 8 PM and Sunday from 10 AM to 5 PM.
