Dunlop Confirm Tire Updates for CSBK Sport Bike in 2017

Dunlop is excited to announce a change in tires for the Sport Bike Middleweight Production classes in the Mopar CSBK Canadian National Roadracing series in 2017.   Previously, Dunlop has supplied DOT rubber for the middleweight class at the Canadian Nationals, but now racers will switch to a slick tire option.

Racers competing in the premiere Mopar CSBK Pro and amateur Sport Bike classes will use Dunlop’s KR448 and KR451 racing slicks starting at Round 1 of the 2017 season.  Competitors will have two front tires to choose from and as many as three rear tire choices will be available in all classes. The Slick tire option is already in use in the 600cc Supersport class in the MotoAmerica U.S.A national championship.

“This opportunity allows us to upgrade our service and streamline our supply,” explained Sandy Noce, Owner of Pro6 Cycle in Toronto, a performance shop, major Track Day provider at several venues and National distributor for Dunlop roadracing, Flat Track and street line rubber in Canada.

“Utilizing the slick tire allows us to have a wider compound range option for the Sport Bike class.  This will be an exciting development for our CSBK competitors and fans,” continued former Pro American and Canadian National racer Noce.

Dunlop will introduce some new compounds for the rear slick tire in 2017.  Noce expects that these new compounds will be offered only on specific occasions, as warranted by track conditions. Dunlop Motorcycle Tires and Pro6 Cycle will confirm the compound selection available for Pro and Amateur competitors for the 2017 Mopar CSBK series.

BMW Pro racer Jordan Szoke will be looking for his 12th career CSBK National overall Title when the 2017 series opens in late spring of 2017 – schedule details to be announced shortly.

Dunlop has served as the control tire for the Canadian National motorcycle roadracing tour since 2014, and will start their second, three-year contract with the CSBK tour in 2017.  Dunlop has also served as the control tire for the MotoAmerica U.S.A national championship since 2009.
